A study by the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute reveals that countries like the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand have identified extreme weather as their primary concern, surpassing issues such as unemployment and economic recession. This emphasizes the immediate and tangible impact of climate change on the daily lives and well-being of people in Southeast Asia. With more frequent extreme weather events, these countries face significant challenges in terms of adaptation, infrastructure resilience, and disaster risk management to protect their populations and maintain stability amidst environmental threats.
