In February, four pairs of beavers were released in the Par and Fowey river catchment, aiming to induce transformative changes in the local landscape. These beavers are expected to contribute not only to the restoration of local ecosystems but also to enhancing flood management and improving water quality. The introduction of beavers, which are known for their dam-building skills, has the potential to alter the water flow, create wetlands, and promote biodiversity in the area. This initiative holds promise for a more sustainable and resilient natural environment, representing a significant step in ecological restoration efforts in the UK.
